I hope you're having a lovely warm weekend. A few things about next week... - There will be Pizza on Tuesday. - On Friday morning Community Builders will be doing a workshop all morning just for grade 4 and 5 students. We are looking forward to benefiting from their work around inclusion and conflict resolution. Field trip - Friday, November 3rd Our first field trip of the year will be Science related and we are going to the ROM. The grade fours will be having a guided tour of the world class rock and mineral collection and the grade fives will be having a guided to visit organized by Mme Coombs. We are looking for parent volunteers. Please send me an email as soon as possible if you are able to volunteer on Nov 3. We will be leaving the school at 12:40 and returning by 3:15. Parent volunteers make these trips possible. A big thank you in advance! I will be sending forms home next week and setting up an online payment form for the trip using the School Cash Online system. It will be $16 per student and frustratingly, also $16 for volunteers. English Homework Due Thursday, October 26th Greetings authors! Your homework this week is to work on the draft of your Room 109 Mystery Story. While you write, remember to have your story map, setting chart, and character traits page to help you on your journey. Keep bringing your English writing journal to school each day because you will also have class time next week to work on your stories. There is no math homework this week because I want you to really focus on your story. Even more important than the length is the care that you put into writing a plot with a clear problem and an interesting solution. Here is a guideline for length:
If you are writing your story on the computer, be sure to write it in Google Docs using your TDSB account so you can work on it at school as well. Your email and access to Google Apps is in this format: [email protected] Here is a checklist for writing a successful story:
